Gateworld Lore - Minos

Description

Out of all the races in the Gateworld, few can be found in as many corners as the calm and labour-loving Minos. Wherever a field needs tending, you can be certain that it is most likely tended to by these bovine humanoids.

As a naturally strong and steadfast people, the Minos are surprisingly pacifist, preferring instead to use their size and fortitude in roles of heavy labour. A vast majority of their kind can be found in clusters of families, living in large agrarian communities where they grow the multitudes of crops that the realm of Camboria hosts. These crops are then happily sold or traded to the larger urban societies like the fiefdoms of Airum, the states of Abbadys and even the provinces of the Vasssshaz Desert.

Despite their easy-going and calm attitude towards other Brightlanders in the Gateworld, one should be cautious when offending a Minos. While it is true that they would never seek out a fight, their sheer physical size and strength makes sure that they will be the ones to end it. Female Minos, commonly called "Minogals," can easily overpower any equally sized opponent thanks to the impressive density of her kind's musculature. While the far larger Minoguys have been known to best Convarsids in one-on-one fights.

Male Minos are particularly protective of their communities, but are far calmer than their smaller sisters. While both members are very laid-back and simple, Minogals are known to be a touch more energetic and decisive, often leading most communities to elect a female as the leader of that community.

Some Camborians would call the Minos "simpletons" for the fact that they live such simple lives and rarely employ magic or helpful machines to aid them in their work. But for a Minos, being able to easily lift sacks of over four hundred kilograms of flour (or in the case of a grown male Minos, twelve hundred kilograms), the more apt question is why they would need that kind of help?

Squeee!! New lore! :D

There's so much I actually want to talk about when it comes to this picture, and the next two pictures I'm gonna upload the coming days, so I don't know where to start.

I guess the first thing is that this series of three new lore pictures feel like a type of return to form for me and that makes me really happy. The old style of painterly colouring is back and employed well as I've revamped a few of my oldest race descriptions. For those who don't remember, this danger-catt.deviantart.com/art… was the first teef I made as DangerCat and the first time you got to see a Minogal. Quite the change, huh? :)

Another thing about the new lore descriptions is that these new ones are kind of meant to replace the old ones. I say kind of, because in some cases, like with the Sapliniers, it's mainly just a "graphical update?" Some races aren't really changing at all, but I just want to show off my new skills since some of the older drawings are really rough and gross. Others will just have small changes changes, like a new skin tone or tail length. And others will be completely new. It's very exciting to me :)

A fun fact that you can probably spot, is that most of the "new designs" are based on the first teefs I made, which means that the Minogal here was based off of the first Minogal teef. And not only that, in my mind she's not only based off of the first, she is the same person as well. Just a couple of years later, when she's adapted to her new life and gotten herself a hunky boyfriend :3 that's the guy to her right.

It must be quite the spectacle to witness such a drastic TF, specially in your new style, where they seem a bit bulkier.
Interesting lore as always, they seem like a nice community ^^
